The UroLift procedure is a minimally invasive treatment for an enlarged prostate (BPH) that uses tiny implants to hold prostate tissue out of the way of the urethra, thereby widening the urinary channel and improving urine flow. The procedure involves inserting a small, telescope-like device through the urethra to place the implants, which are made of medical-grade stainless steel and nitinol. Unlike other treatments like TURP, UroLift does not involve cutting, heating, or removing prostate tissue. The procedure will take 10 minutes and it’s a day-case so no need to stay in the hospital.
